A special commission through Aston Martin’s fancy Q division, the DBS 59 is a homage to the famous victory at Le Mans in 1959, where the two works DBR1 cars finished a massive 25 laps ahead of the next nearest competitor, with Caroll Shelby and Roy Salvadori at the wheel of the winning car.

24 examples of the DBS 59 will be crafted, each one representing each hour of the world-famous race. All 24 59s will wear the Aston Martin Racing Green paint, with a carbon fibre roof panel to complete the guise.
The interior and exterior of the DBS 59 maintains a similar design to the base DBS Superleggera, but with bronze accents in the badging and flappy paddles to mimic the bronze switchgear and gauges of the Le Mans winner. The wheel arches of the car feature the DBR1s iconic #5 in small print next to the beautiful Aston Martin Q Division logo, laid out in Bronze itself. To make you feel at home in your race-inspired GT car, the seats of the 59 are replicas of the weave found in the DBR1s original seats.
Additional details are added on the aeroblade of the DBS 59, featuring a bronze foil inlay showing the original shape, chassis number and engine number of the race winning DBR1. Poor 2nd place DBR1. With new bronze Y-Spoke 21″ wheels, the car will be one to look out for at your local Cars & Coffee or the Goodwood car park meetup.
The car is still based on the DBS Superleggera, and sees no performance upgrades for this cosmetic-based upgrade but its certainly a limited edition package to look out for, including optional accessories in the form of a replica race helmet, 1959 blue overalls and replica gloves of Caroll Shelby. All 24 DBS 59s will be delivered on the grid at the next 24 Hours of Le Mans race, a day before the race is to take place in June, quite the delivery venue.
